Bradford hopes to play on Sundays

The word is out in Norman, Oklahoma. Sam Bradford’s Sooner career is over. The Heisman Trophy winner is opting for season-ending shoulder surgery.  The surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday in Birmingham, Alabama. Bradford made heroic returns to the college gridiron this season, but injuring his shoulder twice in the same season proved to be too much to overcome. Bradford contemplated surgery after the BYU injury, but decided to return and play again. After a successful outing against Baylor,...

Bradford to sit vs. Kansas

Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford will not play this Saturday against conference foe Kansas. Bradford, who has already missed three games this season, aggravated his already sprained shoulder during the first quarter of last Saturday’s Red River Shootout. Bradford left the game after the injury and never returned to action. No timetable is set for Bradford’s return but he’s expected to see several doctors this week and get opinions of the injury. This season has been very unfortunate for Bradford as...

Bradford aggravates right shoulder injury

After suffering an early shoulder injury on opening day against BYU, Sam Bradford suffered the same injury in the Red River Rivalry game at the hands of Texas’ Aaron Williams. The Heisman Trophy winner went down after a hard, but clean, hit by Williams. After the sack, Bradford, who was in obvious pain, did not see the field again. After an MRI and x-ray of his right shoulder this past Sunday, the results indicated that he aggravated his right shoulder injury–his throwing shoulder. This is good...

Reynolds To Apply For Medical Redshirt

Sooner LB Ryan Reynolds has filed the proper paperwork with the NCAA for a medical hardship. The senior tore his ACL in last year’s game against Texas and missed the rest of the season because of it. Reynolds will not hear back from the NCAA until after the season is over, but optimism abounds in Norman. Former OU QB received a medical hardship after sustaining the same injury and missing around the same amount of time as Reynolds. Reynolds has...

Oklahoma’s season hasn’t quite gone as planned. It’s only the fifth week of the season and they’ve been without their Heisman Trophy winner QB since week 1, their All-American TE’s season has been cut short because of injury, and now they’re going to be without their leading WR for possibly a month. Ryan Broyles suffered a fractured shoulder blade early in OU’s Saturday night primetime showdown with Miami, and he’s going to be sidelined for 2-4 weeks. Throw in...

Gresham wants to get paid

Oklahoma’s star TE Jermaine Gresham had the opportunity to be a first round draft pick during the 2009 NFL draft but just as Sam Bradford, he opted to pass on the draft and play his senior season with the Sooners. In an all to common story, Gresham was injured before his season really began and underwent season ending right knee surgery to repair torn cartilage. It is anticipated that Gresham will fully recover and he should be back on...

Jones Sports the Chevron

A couple of weeks ago, no one in our around Norman, Oklahoma knew of QB Landry Jones. Ever since he was thrown into the spotlight upon Heisman candidate Sam Bradford going down, he has become a star and fan favorite in Norman. This fan following may not be so much from his execution on the field but rather from his ungodly chevron mustache which has reached celebrity status. His teammates poke fun at him, as TE Brody Eldridge calls him “Doc Holliday ”and Quarterback Sam Bradford jabs that “it’s not very...

BYU at Oklahoma

Dr. Bob’s review BYU at Oklahoma Saturday, Sep-05 07:00 PM Favorite: Oklahoma -22.5 Total: 67.5 Expectations of BYU fans were far too high last year, as expecting a perfect regular season and a BCS bowl bid with just 3 starters returning on defense made little sense. The Cougars struggled defensively as expected (0.1 yards per play worse than an average team) and facing TCU and Utah both on the road was too much to overcome. The Cougars should be more...
