Oklahoma’s season hasn’t quite gone as planned. It’s only the fifth week of the season and they’ve been without their Heisman Trophy winner QB since week 1, their All-American TE’s season has been cut short because of injury, and now they’re going to be without their leading WR for possibly a month. Ryan Broyles suffered a fractured shoulder blade early in OU’s Saturday night primetime showdown with Miami, and he’s going to be sidelined for 2-4 weeks. Throw in a 2-2 record and their season has been quite the disappointment.
This is just another hit that is coming at such a horrible time for the Sooner Nation. Broyles leads the Sooners in receiving yards (346), catches (23), and TDs (7). And if that’s not enough, he’s also OU’s leading punt returner. It’s going to be a long season for folks in Norman, my how things can change in just a year.
