In the wake of Memphis’ Tommy West’s departure, potential head coach replacements have already been named in Tommy Tuberville and Terry Bowden. Tuberville and Bowden are the front-runners for the position. Tuberville’s resume includes the former head coaching job at Auburn. Meanwhile, Bowden is the current coach at Div. II North Alabama. Others being considered are Auburn’s offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, LSU’s assistant Larry Porter, and Florida’s defensive coordinator Charlie Strong. Unfortunately, The Matador is not under consideration.

Boise State is looking for some competition

On its face, it looks like no BCS team wants to schedule a road game against Boise State with no home game in return. Boise State is trying to fill a void in their 2011 season schedule. Even the WAC commissioner, Karl Benson, is trying to help Boise State land a BCS team. Benson is claiming that as many as 10 schools have turned downed a request to play the Broncos. However, what Benson isn’t talking about is that...

Be All That You Can Be

South Carolina and Maryland will pay tribute to the US military and its veterans on November 11th. The two teams will wear new school specific camouflage uniforms the Saturday before Veterans Day.  Under Armor is making the uniforms which will include a Wounded Warrior Project patch, words like courage, honor, and integrity will be placed on the backs of the jerseys instead of the player’s name as well. Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford will not play this Saturday against conference foe Kansas. Bradford left the game after the injury and never returned to action. No timetable is set for Bradford’s return but he’s expected to see several doctors this week and get opinions of the injury. This season has been very unfortunate for Bradford as...

Miami Limping Into Saturday’s Matchup

Miami has impressed the college football world by jumping out to a 4-1 record and have been properly rewarded with a 9th place standing in the current AP poll. What’s been more impressive  is the fact that the Hurricanes have been doing so minus a number of players from their defensive unit. Miami will have to do more of the same this Saturday as they travel to Orlando to take on the Univ. of Central Florida Golden Knights. Miami...

Reynolds To Apply For Medical Redshirt

Sooner LB Ryan Reynolds has filed the proper paperwork with the NCAA for a medical hardship. The senior tore his ACL in last year’s game against Texas and missed the rest of the season because of it. Reynolds will not hear back from the NCAA until after the season is over, but optimism abounds in Norman. Former OU QB received a medical hardship after sustaining the same injury and missing around the same amount of time as Reynolds. Reynolds has...

Forcier On Track To Play This Weekend

Michigan QB Tate Forcier’s status for Saturday’s game has been in question since sustaining a mild concussion against Iowa. Forcier has been undergoing tests in Ann Arbor with the hopes of being able to play this weekend. The freshman did not practice on Monday after complaining of headaches, but he did do some running during Tuesday’s practice. UM coach Rich Rodriguez said that Foricer will be able to play if he makes Wednesday’s practice. If Forcier’s not ready to go,...
