Bradford Will Sit Against Kansas

Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford will not play this Saturday against conference foe Kansas. Bradford, who has already missed three games this season, aggravated his already sprained shoulder during the first quarter of last Saturday’s Red River Shootout. Bradford left the game after the injury and never returned to action.

No timetable is set for Bradford’s return but he’s expected to see several doctors this week and get opinions of the injury. This season has been very unfortunate for Bradford as last year’s Heisman’s trophy winner as his Sooners are 3-3 and he’s missed a  month of football due to his shoulder injury. He surprised to college football community when he decided to forgo the  NFL draft to return to Oklahoma for one more year.

Bradford will obviously make the best decision regarding coming back to play this season, but one would think that he’s considering the option of calling it a season. It will be a risk playing him the rest of this season and could carry the possibility of injuring it even further. Stoops and the coaching staff should shut him down and allow him to heal completely and enter the 2010 NFL draft.
