Barry Switzer immortalized by Oklahoma

The University of Oklahoma commemorated former head coach Barry Switzer by unveiling a bronze statue of the legendary coach at the Switzer Center this past Saturday during a well received pre-game dedication ceremony. In attendance included Big12 commissioner Chuck Neinas, Bob Stoops, and former and current OU coaches and players. From 1973-1988, Switzer compiled an unprecedented 157-29-4 overall record and a  blustering 100-11-1 conference record winning more games than any other coach in school history. During that dominance, he...

Gundy fires carpenter for wearing Oklahoma gear, faces lawsuit

Team loyalty in the ranks of college football is second to none and a carpenter from Choctaw, Oklahoma now knows too well.  Back in March, Oklahoma State football head coach Mike Gundy hired a contractor to do over $80,000.00 worth of home improvement projects to his Stillwater home.  On the day the project began, one of the carpenters, Brent Loveland, unwisely showed up to Gundy’s house wearing a gray Oklahoma baseball t-shirt.  Upon seeing the rival shirt, coach Gundy just...

Kevin Wilson: Indiana’s new $8 million dollar man

Kevin Wilson became Indiana’s new $8 million dollar man by inking a seven-year $8.4 million dollar deal with the hopes of restoring an Indiana Hoosiers team that is arguably the worst team in the Big X. Wilson is an offensive mastermind who brings to the table a spread open offense that was highly productive during his years at Oklahoma. Under his 9 year tenure with Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops, Wilson produced 3 of the most productive offenses in college football...

“A” is for Awful

The barbershop talk this morning is all about the disappointing week 2 in the ACC. To start, #13 Virginia Tech and Coach Beamer were a complete embarrassment being shocked and upset by James Madison University 16-21 in hostile Lane Stadium. The Hokies showed no signs of discipline turning over the ball 3 times and QB Tyrod Taylor was unable to garner any offense during the upset. Kansas quickly turned last week’s upset loss to North Dakota State into a...
