QB Landry Jones makes his start sporting the famed chevron mustache
A couple of weeks ago, no one in our around Norman, Oklahoma knew of QB Landry Jones. Ever since he was thrown into the spotlight upon Heisman candidate Sam Bradford going down, he has become a star and fan favorite in Norman. This fan following may not be so much from his execution on the field but rather from his ungodly chevron mustache which has reached celebrity status.
His teammates poke fun at him, as TE Brody Eldridge calls him “Doc Holliday ”and Quarterback Sam Bradford jabs that “it’s not very manly.”
The students jumped on the bandwagon too and supported Jones this weekend by sporting fake mustaches and T-shirts that said, “Fear the Stache” and “Mustache Mafia.” Even the administration is getting in on the fun as OU football operations coordinator Matt McMillen and video director Brian Martin have begun growing mustaches to show solidarity with Jones.
Before you know it, he will probably be headlining the American Mustache Institute, right next to other famed ‘stache sporters.
