Potts To Sit

Florida’s Tim Tebow may not be the only concussed QB to sit out on Saturday. Texas Tech’s Taylor Potts suffered a concussion last week in Tech’s game against New Mexico which earned him an overnight stay in a Lubbock hospital. Unlike the secrecy surrounding Tebow, TT coach Mike Leach has made it know that Potts will sit this week as a precautionary measure. TT will turn to former walk-on Steven Sheffield to lead the offense. Sheffield come off the...

Sheffield gets 1st Collegiate Start

It’s official, Texas Tech’s Taylor Potts will not dress for this Saturday’s game against Kansas State. Potts is still recovering from a concussion he sustained during the first half of last week’s New Mexico game. Potts never made it back and missed the entire second half. Pegged to start under center will be QB Steven Sheffield. Sheffield never started a collegiate game, but he has mop-up duty experience. During the second half of the Lobos game, he threw for...

WR Reynolds breaks leg

Bad news for you Iowa State fans. Yesterday, WR Darius Reynolds broke his leg in practice–fracturing his fibula. Reynolds will be out of commission for at least one month. This is a significant loss to an injury prone Cyclones team that doesn’t have much talent to begin with. Basically, Reynolds, as a juco transfer and 1st year starter, is the 2nd leading receiver on the team.  As a top receiver, he has only amassed 13 receptions for 72 yards. As of now, there is no word regarding Reynolds’...

Starting defensive back Courtney Viney, running back Milton Knox, and wideouts Morrell Presley and Randall Carroll are the four players that will sit out this weekend. “When you are a member of a team,...

Rogan breaks a Prince’s Jaw

UCLA had an impressive 19-15 win over Tennessee this past Saturday. However, the win may prove to be costly as UCLA’s star freshman QB Kevin Prince suffered a broken jaw when the Vols’ Dennis Rogan sacked him for a safety with 1:41 to play. Prince will have his jaw wired shut and he should be out 3-4 weeks. Prince is having a promising start leading the Bruins to a 2-0 record with victories over San Diego State and Tennessee....

Kassanavoid the Police

The 3rd string QB spot may have just opened up at Kansas State. Freshman QB Joseph Kassanavoid was arrested last night for misdemeanor battery charges. Coincidentally, a 21 year old female, Ashleigh Brooke Mitchell, was also arrested at that same address. This seems to be eerily familiar to the Upshaw incident. Lt. Michael Quintanar of the Riley County Police Department would not release any other details regarding the arrests. K-State’s athletic director did not comment as to Kassanavoid’s future...
