UCLA had an impressive 19-15 win over Tennessee this past Saturday. However, the win may prove to be costly as UCLA’s star freshman QB Kevin Prince suffered a broken jaw when the Vols’ Dennis Rogan sacked him for a safety with 1:41 to play. Prince will have his jaw wired shut and he should be out 3-4 weeks.
Prince is having a promising start leading the Bruins to a 2-0 record with victories over San Diego State and Tennessee. Though UCLA faces Kansas State this Saturday, Coach Neuheisel has not revealed who will get the starting nod. Although, it looks as though Kevin Craft, who was a starter last season but lost the job to Prince, will take snaps under center. Behind Craft is freshman Richard Brehaut.
The real concern facing the Bruins is if Prince can suit up on October 3rd when conference play begins starting with Stanford.
