Penn State Cruises to Victory

Penn State opened the season with an easy win over the Akron Zips. This game was sealed at half-time when PSU went into the locker room with a 31 point lead. Clark had an impressive performance going 29/40 for 353 yards and 1 TD. PSU’s receivers showed signs of their youth and inexperience by bobbling and dropping a few passes, but overall, the fan’s should be pleased with the groups performance. Leading the pack was Moye’s 6 receptions for...

Former D-I Transfer Shines

Former Penn State QB Pat Devlin made a spectacular debut as the Delaware Blue Hens’ starting quarterback at Delaware Stadium before a sellout crowd of 22,006 screaming fans. Devlin, who went 12 0f 15 for 227 yards, threw for 2 TDs and scampered for a running TD lifting the Hens past West Chester 35-0. The Golden Rams of West Chester is a D-II school and not the caliber of players that Devlin faced when playing at Happy Valley, but nonetheless,...

Koroma a Leatherneck

Abe Koroma hails from Milton Hershey High School. A school designed to help nurture and educate children in social and financial need to lead to a fulfilling and productive life. Upon graduation, Koroma joined Penn State and the Nittany Lions to continue his path for success. Unfortunately for Abe, his tenure at PSU has come to an end. Koroma, a projected starter at defensive tackle, was having some personal issues that lead to his dismissal from the team. JoePa even thought...

Save your Lunch Money

Ticket prices for big games are off the charts If you want to go to some of the biggest college football games this season, you better start saving your lunch money. Even with this economic downturn, major college football ticket sales are off the charts.  As of now, the most highly sought out ticket is the USC v Ohio State game on September 12th. The average ticket price is hovering above $800 compared to the average ticket price of...

Thou Shall Not Cut Class

JoePa is throwing down the gauntlet, sort of. He is fed up with CB A.J. Wallace‘s lack of effort when it comes to going to class.  To show he is serious, he is threatening to suspend Wallace for two games if his attendance does not improve. Now for most programs, this would be huge, but fortunately for Penn State, the suspension, if applied, would be against Akron and Syracuse, neither of which have an aerial assault worthy of concern....

Time Ticking for Rutgers and Darrell Givens

Darrell Givens, a star Maryland  high school cornerback and Rutgers recruit,  is still awaiting word from Rutgers officials about his admission to the New Jersey school. The issue delaying the admissions process is with Givens’s high school transcripts from Friendly (MD) HS.  Givens had initially signed a letter of intent to play for Penn State earlier this year but the school withdrew its offer earlier this week, which was a surprise to him. Givens’s high school coach, Doug Lamb,...

Fan Mail Regarding Penn State

Joe Paterno 383-126-3 Matador, love the site! Do you think PSU will win at least 10 games this season? A Fan Thank you for the question. Now I’m not saying PSU will go undefeated, but the team has the balance, depth, and senior leadership to repeat as Big 10 champs and possibly go 12-0 this season.  Most of the sports books have the over/under on PSU at 9.5 (I’m assuming this is why you are asking your question). Based on...
