Penn State opened the season with an easy win over the Akron Zips. This game was sealed at half-time when PSU went into the locker room with a 31 point lead. Clark had an impressive performance going 29/40 for 353 yards and 1 TD. PSU’s receivers showed signs of their youth and inexperience by bobbling and dropping a few passes, but overall, the fan’s should be pleased with the groups performance. Leading the pack was Moye’s 6 receptions for 138 yards and a TD.
On Defense, Akron had no first downs in the first half and held the Zips to a team total of 186 net yards compared to PSU’s 515. Now for you Nittany Lion fans, don’t go breaking out the champagne just yet, after all, this was Akron. The real test comes when conference play begins.
