Ticket prices for big games are off the charts

If you want to go to some of the biggest college football games this season, you better start saving your lunch money. Even with this economic downturn, major college football ticket sales are off the charts.  As of now, the most highly sought out ticket is the USC v Ohio State game on September 12th. The average ticket price is hovering above $800 compared to the average ticket price of the Texas v. Oklahoma match-up at a little over $400 per ticket (keep in mind, this is the average ticket price for 1 ticket from a secondary ticket broker).

Another highly sought after ticket is the Ohio State v. Penn State game Nov. 7th averaging over $350 per ticket. The USC v. Notre Dame match up is averaging over $500 per ticket.

Of course, these ticket prices can change drastically over the course of the season depending on the team’s record. For example, if Ohio State heads into Beaver stadium with both teams being undefeated, the price could very well double. As could the price of the USC v. Notre Dame game if both teams have unscathed records.

Financial crises or not, be prepared to shell out some big bucks.
