There’s Hope for Kramer

It looks like we have another star college basketball player a la Greg Paulus who wants to trade in his high-tops for cleats. Purdue’s senior guard Chris Kramer is contemplating whether or not he should give it a go on the gridiron. He was a blue chip high school player who excelled at QB, RB, and DB. However, during his high school days at Huntington North (Indiana), he was focused on playing college basketball even though fans and coaches...

Paulus is confident he could take down Clausen, et al.

Greg Paulus was most recently featured on the Dan Patrick Show. For about 10 minutes, Patrick, in true form, blitzed Paulus about both basketball and football. He was pushing Paulus to see if he would say anything negative about Coach K and Duke. He even put Paulus on the spot by asking who has a better basketball team, Syracuse or Duke. But the real interest was his response about whether or not he is a better QB than Tim Tebow, Sam...

‘Cuse to move forward without WR Mike Williams

This just in, Syracuse’s WR Mike Williams has quit the team. Throughout his roller coaster career at Syracuse, he has always been the Orange’s #1 receiver with sure hands. After missing last season because of academic reasons, he returned this season in true form. Before he quit the team, he was the leading receiver (even with a game suspension) with 49 receptions for 746 yards and six touchdowns. The Orange are already in an offensive slump and with the absence of Williams, Greg...

‘Cuse’s offense doesn’t exist, how long will Paulus?

It’s not looking good for Syracuse fans midway through the season. The Orange are 2-4 and 0-2 in conference play. The offense is struggling and most notably the team cannot convert on third down. The QB play is also questionable as Greg Paulus has thrown 6 INTs in the past 2 games. Most recently against the Mountaineers, Paulus played so poorly that he was benched in the second half of the 34-13 defeat. Nevertheless, coach Doug Marrone has confidence in his...

Paulus Gets a “C”

Greg Paulus must be a special person. Not only was he named the starting quarterback last week for the Orange, but the team just voted Paulus as one of four team captains. Paulus is no stranger to the responsibilities of being captain as he was an All-American two time captain for Coach K and Duke. Paulus is clearly making a solid impression with his coaches and teammates and is taking advantage of his final year of college eligibility. From...

Greg’s Back

Former Duke point guard, and emotional leader, Greg Paulus was named the Syracuse starting QB earlier today. The 2005 Gatorade Male Athlete of the Year, was a football and basketball  phenom at Christian Brothers Academy (NY) and was heavily recruited by top division 1 programs in both sports. He chose Duke and played basketball for the Blue Devils. Paulus graduated from Duke this year and made it known that he wanted to continue his football career. After considering a few schools,...

Greg Paulus has one year to shine

Doug Marrone was bombarded with questions regarding QB Greg Paulus during the Big East Conference media day in Newport, R.I. this past Tuesday. Since Marrone hasn’t had the opportunity to see Paulus in action, he didn’t have much to say. Syracuse’s official preseason camp doesn’t begin until August 10th. Since no one knows how he will perform, this video should give you good guidance as to his potential. Paulus has the ability, at least he did in high school, and...

The Big East

Some say the Big East may not have a national champion contender or even a top 10 contender, but regardless, this will be an exciting year for the conference. From top to bottom, this is one of the most even BCS conferences which will make for exciting match-ups. Since there is not one dominant team in the Big East, several teams have a legitimate shot to win the conference and the automatic BCS berth. After previewing the teams and...
