It’s not looking good for Syracuse fans midway through the season. The Orange are 2-4 and 0-2 in conference play. The offense is struggling and most notably the team cannot convert on third down. The QB play is also questionable as Greg Paulus has thrown 6 INTs in the past 2 games.
Most recently against the Mountaineers, Paulus played so poorly that he was benched in the second half of the 34-13 defeat. Nevertheless, coach Doug Marrone has confidence in his QB and Paulus is still set to start this Saturday as the Orange host Akron. Keep in mind though, Marrone has no problems benching his starter if he can’t get it done.
In other news, the Orange faithful have something to really cheer about as the basketball team tips-off the season in an upcoming exhibition game Oct. 25, 2009 against Cal-State at 2:00 p.m.
