Doug Marrone was bombarded with questions regarding QB Greg Paulus during the Big East Conference media day in Newport, R.I. this past Tuesday. Since Marrone hasn’t had the opportunity to see Paulus in action, he didn’t have much to say.
Syracuse’s official preseason camp doesn’t begin until August 10th. Since no one knows how he will perform, this video should give you good guidance as to his potential. Paulus has the ability, at least he did in high school, and could impress the coaches enough to get the starting nod at some point in the season. Though he only has one year of eligibility left, he can make an immediate impact considering Cameron Dantley isn’t all that great to begin with and freshman Ryan Nassib is untested. Plus last season, the Orange were 1-6 in conference play. At this point, the Orange don’t have much to risk.
