Kevin Wilson: Indiana’s new $8 million dollar man

Kevin Wilson became Indiana’s new $8 million dollar man by inking a seven-year $8.4 million dollar deal with the hopes of restoring an Indiana Hoosiers team that is arguably the worst team in the Big X. Wilson is an offensive mastermind who brings to the table a spread open offense that was highly productive during his years at Oklahoma. Under his 9 year tenure with Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops, Wilson produced 3 of the most productive offenses in college football...

@JazReynolds: watch what you tweet!

Oklahoma wide receiver Jaz Reynolds took the Red River Rivalry trash talking and tweeting a bit too far on Tuesday. After a gunman opened fire at the University of Texas, Reynolds sent derogatory tweets on his twitter page to memorialize the event: “Hey everyone in Austin, tx… kill yourself.” Then he tweeted: “Everyone in austin, tx disregard that last tweet… y’all will mess around n do it lmao.” As result of his insensitive remarks, Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops indefinitely...

Is Kirk Ferentz the most overrated coach in college football? Pt. 2

The first part of this Iowa news series received such a warm reception by Hawkeye Nation, hopefully part two promises more of the same. Apparently, Hawkeye football in Iowa is more popular than corn subsidies. Iowans from Sioux City to Waterloo either left comments or shot-off emails, sticking up for their head coach, with some using a few choice words to do so.  Nonetheless, I would not expect any different from any true college football fan in coming to the aid and defense of their...

Book-em, Danno!

The ghost of Barry Switzer seems to be cursing athletes in Norman, Oklahoma. Switzer’s ghost continues to haunt left tackle Donald Stephenson. Stephenson, who was slated to be in the starting rotation for 2010, was picked-up this past weekend for an outstanding municipal warrant. With his second arrest in less than one year, his days on the playing field could be in jeopardy. At approximately 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10th, Stephenson was pulled over on East Norman Street for failing...

Notre Dame commands respect

December 3, 2009

Regardless of your position on Notre Dame, this storied program still has a strong bite and will always have a national presence even coming off of sub-par performances this past decade. As Charlie Weis was dismissed from Notre Dame, Universities and ADs throughout the nation were scrambling to prevent their big time coaches from being lured by the aura of Notre Dame.  Most recently, #4 TCU just locked in coach Gary Patterson to a new contract through the 2016...

Bradford aggravates right shoulder injury

After suffering an early shoulder injury on opening day against BYU, Sam Bradford suffered the same injury in the Red River Rivalry game at the hands of Texas’ Aaron Williams. The Heisman Trophy winner went down after a hard, but clean, hit by Williams. After the sack, Bradford, who was in obvious pain, did not see the field again. After an MRI and x-ray of his right shoulder this past Sunday, the results indicated that he aggravated his right shoulder injury–his throwing shoulder. This is good...

Bradford is back?

For you Sooner faithful, it looks like Sam Bradford is back on the practice field. It appears he is taking a giant step forward in his recovery from his separated shoulder. Though he was very limited at practice, he was able to perform basic throwing drills from 5 to 10 yards. Coach Bob Stoops does not want to speak on a time table for Bradford’s return, but the Sooners favorable schedule may allow just enough time for Bradford to...

OU Loses Gresham For the Season

The hits just keep coming for the Oklahoma Sooners. All Big XII tight end Jermaine Gresham’s career as a member of the Sooner football team is over. Gresham will undergo season ending arthroscopic surgery on his right knee that will take at least 5 months to heal. He injured his knee during practice two weeks ago and missed OU’s season opener loss against the BYU Cougars. Gresham turned down potential millions by not entering this year’s NFL draft and decided to return to OU...
