Kevin Wilson: Indiana’s new $8 million dollar man

OC Kevin Wilson gave his heart and soul to Oklahoma, he will now take the helm of a depleted Hoosier program.

Kevin Wilson became Indiana’s new $8 million dollar man by inking a seven-year $8.4 million dollar deal with the hopes of restoring an Indiana Hoosiers team that is arguably the worst team in the Big X.

Wilson is an offensive mastermind who brings to the table a spread open offense that was highly productive during his years at Oklahoma. Under his 9 year tenure with Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops, Wilson produced 3 of the most productive offenses in college football history (’03, ’07, ’08). In 2008, his offensive schemes produced a record breaking 60 points or more for five straight games. This type of offensive firepower is exactly what the Hoosiers need to revive a depleted program that finished the season 1-7 in conference play.

Hiring Wilson is a financial gamble because at Oklahoma he consistently devised schemes with top high school athletes such as current NFLer QB Sam Bradford and RB Adrian Peterson. Indiana does not have the quality and depth of athletes garnered at Oklahoma.

For this monumental task, Wilson will receive almost twice as much compensation as former coach Bill Lynch and 3 times his income while at Oklahoma.

To all the Hoosier believers, Wilson will have his hands full, but he is certainly qualified to take the helm. Wilson may not be the best podium speaker, but he has fire in his eyes, his players trust him, and he will provide the much needed spark to a dying program.
