Let’s Go Moe

South Carolina gave Alabama a run for its money on Saturday. Unfortunately, they came up short and lost 20-6 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Not only did Spurrier lose a chance to upset the #2 team in the nation, but now he will be without senior captain and star receiver Moe Brown. During the Gamecock’s losing efforts, Brown suffered a game ending concussion. He was hit by two defenders after making an 8 yard grab in the first half. The hit...

Upshaw’s Law

Alabama’s Courtney Upshaw has been court ordered to take anger management classes for a misdemeanor domestic violence and harassment charge. The charge stems from an incident this past August where both Upshaw and his girlfriend were arrested for an altercation that occurred in the parking lot of Alabama’s campus recreation center. From the beginning, Upshaw has had the support of his coach Nick Saban, who believes that the incident was a lapse in judgement by Upshaw, and that Upshaw is a good...

Coach tweets surgical procedure

It is clear the times are changing. Yesterday, Kentucky’s head coach Rich Brooks went through a serious surgical procedure to remove skin cancer from his lower leg. Rather than having the AD or the University release an official statement, Brooks decided to inform the world in an unconventional way, through a tweet: Had a skin cancer cut out of my lower leg. The ACC Embarrassment

The Matador received heavy criticism for his early preseason bashing of the ACC.  If we learned anything from week 1, The Matador wasn’t too far off the mark. The two inexcusable beatings landed at the hands of Duke losing to Richmond 16-24 and lowly UVA being ousted by in-state rival William & Mary 14-26. Another game that set the conference back was Cal thumping Maryland 52-13. The ACC did have some close games that came down to 4th quarter...

VaTech’s Beamer announced that redshirt freshman Ryan Williams will start at tailback when the No. 7 Hokies play No. 5 Alabama. Oregon RB Blount is out for the remainder of his...

Match Made In Heaven

It looks as if Nick Saban has finally decided on a permanent place to lay his roots. Saban signed a contract extension that will keep him in Tuscaloosa until 2017.“Coach Saban has impressively led the Alabama football program back to national prominence in a short period of time,” Moore said on the school’s Web site Saturday. “This contract extension is a clear statement of our mutual commitment to building on the foundation he has established.”
