‘Bama defensive end Brandon Deaderick was shot in the arm during a robbery attempt in Tuscaloosa last night. The suspect, who police are still searching for, approached Deaderick in the parking lot of his apartment complex and demanded that he “give it up”. He then shot Deaderick in the arm after he refused to comply. The injury suffered is non-life threatening but Deaderick was kept in the hospital overnight for observation.
The 6’4, 287 lb., senior started 14 games at DE for the Tide last season and was a force to reckon with. Deaderick logged 36 tackles, 4 sacks, and 5.5 tackles for losses during ‘Bama’s 12-2 run last season. It’s still unclear how much of an impact the injury will have on his playing time but we will monitor the situation and keep you informed as more information is released. While unfortunate that something like this had to happen, thankfully the injuries sustained were neither life nor career threatening.
