The NCAA has cleared Alabama’s Julio Jones and Mark Ingram to play in this weekend’s game against #7 Virginia Tech. Jones and Ingram were under investigation for participating in a fishing trip paid for by Alabama businessman Curtis Anderson earlier this year. Ingram and Jones will have to pay for expenses incurred on the trip but will not face any further penalty after doing so. Many fans in Tuscaloosa were holding their breath during the NCAA investigation as the fate of the two were unknown.
This is great news for the Tide as Ingram and Jones will be an integral part of their offense this season. Jones caught 58 passes for 924 yards last year for 4 TDs while Ingram rushed for 728 yards and 12 TDs.
