Moe Brown is thumbs up after suffering a big hit

South Carolina gave Alabama a run for its money on Saturday. Unfortunately, they came up short and lost 20-6 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Not only did Spurrier lose a chance to upset the #2 team in the nation, but now he will be without senior captain and star receiver Moe Brown.

During the Gamecock’s losing efforts, Brown suffered a game ending concussion. He was hit by two defenders after making an 8 yard grab in the first half. The hit was so crushing that he had to be carted off the field on a stretcher and taken to a hospital. The good news–he was thumbs up and talking to teammates as he was carted off of the field. However, in the abundance of caution coupled with the doctors not rushing his return, Brown will miss the team’s upcoming game against Vanderbilt.

With the loss of Brown, Spurrier is expected to bring back running back Jarvis Giles and DE Akeem Auguste who were both suspended for violation of team rules.
