Upshaw to Take Anger Management Classes For Aug. Incident

Alabama’s Courtney Upshaw has been court ordered to take anger management classes for a misdemeanor domestic violence and harassment charge. The charge stems from an incident this past August where both Upshaw and his girlfriend were arrested for an altercation that occurred in the parking lot of Alabama’s campus recreation center.

From the beginning, Upshaw has had the support of his coach Nick Saban, who believes that the incident was a lapse in judgement by Upshaw, and that Upshaw is a good person on and off the football field. Saban did not suspend him for the incident.

Alabama Judge Joel Chandler also ordered the female involved in the altercation to take the same classes as well. Both will be granted youthful offender statues given they complete the program by December 9th of this year. Hopefully Upshaw takes this as a lesson learned and does not repeat the same mistake again.
