Georgia agrees to terms with Boise State in 2011

Next year’s Chick-fil-A kickoff game will feature Boise State and Georgia. The two teams agreed terms to play in Atlanta on September 3, 2011. The game will be Boise’s second season-opener that the team will play on the road. Boise faced Virgina Tech earlier this season at Landover, MD’s, FedEx Field.

Boise was originally scheduled to travel to Oxford, MS, to play the Ole Miss Rebels, but dropped them from the schedule for Georgia. The two schools rescheduled their meeting for the 2014 season.Frustrated with the lack of respect from the national media, Boise has taken to scheduling BCS conference teams in the hopes of earning enough strength of schedule points from the BCS computers.

Georgia cancelled their scheduled 2011-12 contract with Louisville, opting to pay the school $600,000, ensuring a Boise/UGA match-up.

Georgia hosted Boise State in Athens in 2005, in a marquee top-25 contest. The Broncos proved to be no match for the Bulldogs as Georgia dismantled them 48-18.
