College Football: Week 1 Predictions

We’re here to give you a rundown of the college football picks for Week 1 of the new season and which games may have the best available value to attack. While there’s a huge amount of games for opening week, there’s only a few we’re going to touch on here. First off, we’d be foolish not to start things off with the defending champion Alabama Crimson Tide. They’ll take on Michigan in Arlington, Texas in what should be a...

Mountain West Denied Automatic BCS Bid

For the Mountain West faithful, the dream of attaining automatic qualifying (AQ) status for the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) has ended.  On Tuesday, the BCS Presidential Oversight Committee denied the conference’s request for a waiver that would have given the Mountain West an automatic bid for post-season play in the lucrative BCS for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. Though it was considered a long shot for the conference to attain AQ status, it was a disappointment considering the recent...

The Mountain West looks for a new image, goes boxy

Earlier today, the Mountain West Conference released a new logo and theme. Unfortunately, the logo and theme are about as unimaginative as the Conference’s new tagline “This is our Time” and nickname “The Rock.” The release, which was supposed to mark a new era for a Conference that has only been around for 13-years, is somewhat of a disappointment. The “This is or Time” tagline doesn’t really mean anything when the conference just lost BYU and Utah this year,...

Wynn is scheduled for surgery in the coming days and will undergo at least 6 months of rehab. Senior QB...

Senator Harry Reid takes Senate floor to congratulate the Wolf Pack

It is no surprise the general public does not think highly of our federal government. During the midst of record unemployment, North and South Korea in a stand-off, TSA taking the body search too far, and a never ending war in Afghanistan, long sitting Nevada Senator Harry Reid (D) decided to take the Senate floor on Monday to praise Nevada on their stunning victory over Boise State. It is clear, Nevada’s win was one for the ages, but the...

Ducks, Tigers pass crucial test, Broncos fail

The BCS storm cleared last night as No. 4 Boise State blew a 24-7 lead falling to No. 19 Nevada with Kyle Brotzman missing an OT field goal stunning the Broncos 34-31. As Nevada stormed the field in ecstasy, the Boise State sideline was in disappointment knowing their BCS Championship birth or even a BCS bid has ended. Meanwhile, the Ducks put on a second half clinic scoring 34 second half points punching their BCS birth ticket with a...

Boise State and Georgia to meet in Atlanta next season

Next year’s Chick-fil-A kickoff game will feature Boise State and Georgia. The two teams agreed terms to play in Atlanta on September 3, 2011. The game will be Boise’s second season-opener that the team will play on the road. Boise faced Virgina Tech earlier this season at Landover, MD’s, FedEx Field. Boise was originally scheduled to travel to Oxford, MS, to play the Ole Miss Rebels, but dropped them from the schedule for Georgia. The two schools rescheduled their meeting for the...
