Boise State and Georgia to meet in Atlanta next season

Next year’s Chick-fil-A kickoff game will feature Boise State and Georgia. The two teams agreed terms to play in Atlanta on September 3, 2011. The game will be Boise’s second season-opener that the team will play on the road. Boise faced Virgina Tech earlier this season at Landover, MD’s, FedEx Field. Boise was originally scheduled to travel to Oxford, MS, to play the Ole Miss Rebels, but dropped them from the schedule for Georgia. The two schools rescheduled their meeting for the...

Auburn’s Three-Headed Rushing Attack

Although Cam Newton is the face of Auburn football, the Tigers boast a punishing three-headed rushing attack that has left defensive coordinators struggling to find ways to slow it down this season. However, what they’ve learned in the process is that you cannot stop it; you can only hope to try to find ways of containing it. Michael Dyer, Onterio McCalebb, and Mario Fannin are averaging over 5 yards per carry this season and have been instrumental in...

Auburn’s Zac Etheridge’s Road to Recovery

While Auburn continues to soar to great heights this season, far surpassing even the most ardent Auburn fan’s expectations, perhaps no one is more grateful and appreciative than Auburn safety Zac Ethridge. For Etheridge knows firsthand that although football is the game he loves and plays with a fierce and fiery passion, it is still just that, a game. When compared to something as precious as life, it is far minuscule. October 31, 2009, is a day that will forever live...

The Genius of Gus Malzahn

Auburn offensive coordinator, Gus Malzahn, is arguably college football’s most creative offensive mind. One of the early innovators of the current wildcat offense, a formation he routinely ran at Arkansas with former Razorbacks Darren McFadden and Felix Jones, Malzahn has been successful at every stop throughout his coaching career. Most recent, his offensive philosophy has propelled the Auburn Tigers to the top of nearly every single offensive statistical category since his arrival last season. Under his guidance, this year’s Auburn...

The Riverboat Gambler’s Final Hand

Three years removed from winning his first and only BCS National Championship, LSU skipper Les Miles could be entering his last season as head coach of the Tigers. Miles assumed head coaching duties on January 3, 2005, when current Alabama head coach Nick Saban bolted Baton Rouge to try his hand in the NFL. Miles got off to a red-hot start by going 11-2 in his first season as head coach and earned a trip to Atlanta to represent...

Ole Miss takes chance on Masoli

Former Oregon Duck QB Jeremiah Masoli has landed on his feet. This time, in Oxford, Mississippi. Masoli was dismissed from the Oregon Ducks following a couple of run-ins with the law earlier this summer and it looked as if his collegiate football playing days were going to end. However, Houston Nutt and the Ole Miss Rebels have come to his rescue giving Masoli a fresh start in the SEC. Masoli visited Ole Miss this past weekend and informed the...

Masoli to resurface at Ole Miss?

Don’t  look now but former Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli could end up in the SEC at Ole Miss. Life after Jevan Snead is underway in Oxford and the Rebels are heading into the 2010 season lacking depth at QB. As of now, the Rebs are carrying only two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster after Raymond Cotton’s transfer was confirmed yesterday. It has been rumored that Masoli has shown interest in playing for Houston Nutt at Ole Miss, but Nutt has...
