Ingram for Heisman

Everyone knows about Tim Tebow and Colt McCoy being the front-runners in this years Heisman race, but Alabama’s Mark Ingram has quietly compiled some impressive stats for the #1 ranked Crimson Tide. The 5’10, 212 lb. sophomore from Flint, MI, already has 905 yards and 8 touchdowns. He has also caught 3 passes out of the backfield for touchdowns.

Ingram  garnered  SEC offensive player of the week honors after torching South Carolina’s defense for 246 yards on the ground and a touchdown.

Although Tebow and McCoy have led their teams to undefeated seasons at this point in the year, neither have put up superb numbers. Meanwhile, Ingram has been running rampant over his competition and has established himself as the focal point of Alabama’s offense. If Ingram continues at this pace, he may walk away from this year’s Heisman ceremony carrying the hardware. ‘Bama faces a good Tennessee team led by defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin this weekend as Ingram will try to continue his dominance rushing.
