Entire Waterloo football team tested for steroids

It’s not too often we report about college football teams outside of the United States, but it looks like the University of Waterloo’s entire football team was tested by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sports for steroids. The investigation was spurned after Waterloo Police were investigating and searching a Waterloo football player for stolen goods from a breaking an entering. Rather than finding the loot, the police found a stash of steroids and human growth hormones. Upon finding...

There’s Hope for Kramer

It looks like we have another star college basketball player a la Greg Paulus who wants to trade in his high-tops for cleats. Purdue’s senior guard Chris Kramer is contemplating whether or not he should give it a go on the gridiron. He was a blue chip high school player who excelled at QB, RB, and DB. However, during his high school days at Huntington North (Indiana), he was focused on playing college basketball even though fans and coaches...

Mono strikes USC’s Ellison

Someone was doing a little more than lifting weights during the off-season. It looks like USC’s tight end Rhett Ellison will be sidelined for the entire spring practice as he battles a bout of mono. Rhett was the leading candidate to be the starting tight end for the new Lane Kiffin offense. Last season he played in all 13 games hauling in 6 catches, 41 yards, and 1 TD. With TE Blake Ayles nursing an ankle injury, the door...

As Easter nears, Crist rises

In the post Weis and Clausen era, Brian Kelly and Notre Dame got some good news out of the locker room. As spring practice kicked off and the players jaunted onto LaBar practice complex with their cleats and gold helmets, heralded 5 star recruit QB Dayne Crist was seen running with the team. Crist is recovering from surgery quicker than anticipated and is happy to be back on the field. Just four months ago, Crist tore his ACL during...

Turning over a new Leaf

Former Washington State QB and NFL bust Ryan Leaf will plead guilty for his involvement with drugs and burglary. In exchange for the guilty plea, he will get 10 years of probation and pay a $20,000.00 fine. Assuming the judge accepts the plea, Leaf can put his Hydrocodone addiction behind him. If you don’t recall, Ryan Leaf was a stud at Washington State and was a top NFL draft pick. After his four year stint in the NFL he...
