QB Dayne Crist's spring practice should be a success

In the post Weis and Clausen era, Brian Kelly and Notre Dame got some good news out of the locker room. As spring practice kicked off and the players jaunted onto LaBar practice complex with their cleats and gold helmets, heralded 5 star recruit QB Dayne Crist was seen running with the team.

Crist is recovering from surgery quicker than anticipated and is happy to be back on the field. Just four months ago, Crist tore his ACL during the Washington State game and doctors were unsure when he would return. Much to everyone’s surprise, Crist is back on the field and ready to go.  Crist may have been wearing the “do not tackle” jersey, but he did practice with the team and is seeing live action.

If Brian Kelly wants to replicate his success from his Cincinnati days, he will need Crist to be at full speed slinging the ball to showcase the high powered spread attack. From the looks of the roster and barring any mishaps, Crist will be the starter come kick-off.  I’m saying it now, expect to see the same passing efficiency from Crist as we saw from Clausen.
