Clipped Wings?

The Ducks are keeping their beaks shut about the severity of QB Jeremiah Masoli’s knee injury sustained during Oregon’s 52-6 victory over ailing Washington State. Masoli took a tough sack in the first half of the game and a few plays later he left for good. During the second half, he was on the sidelines wearing his Duck warm-up suit. As of yesterday, Masoli finally joined the practice squad, but is playing on a limited basis. There are conflicting...

Take Missouri and the points

#21 Nebraska (-3.5) 28 #24 MISSOURI 26 Over/Under Total: 52.5 06:00 PM Pacific Time Thursday, Oct-08 Missouri certainly entered this season underrated and the Tigers are a good team, but they may be overrated a bit right now. Missouri’s offense has averaged a healthy 6.6 yards per play in their 4 games when starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert has been in the game, but they’ve faced 4 sub-par defensive teams that would combine to allow 5.8 yppl to an average offensive team, so the...

A King gets crushed

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that Georgia RB Caleb King fractured his jaw and suffered a concussion in last Saturday’s loss to the LSU Tigers. At first, the severity of his injury was either not known or overlooked as King continued to play after taking the injury causing hit. In fact, coach Mark Richt  will play King this Saturday against Tennessee if he gets a medical clearance. Both Richt and Meyer (Meyer wants Tebow to play against LSU) are anxious...

LB Lee ruled out again

It’s been almost 3 weeks since we last saw LB Sean Lee on the field when the Nittany Lions decimated the Temple Owls 31-6. With the win, Lee suffered a left knee injury. At first, it didn’t appear to be too serious, but now, it looks like Joe Paterno is going to keep out his star LB for another game-his third straight. Fortunately, the Nittany Lions are playing powerhouse (hahaha) Eastern Illinois, so pretty much every start won’t really...

Prime Time is not happy with Smith

FSU’s Board of Trustees chair Jim Smith openly called for the end of the Bowden Era. This comment has infuriated Seminole fans throughout the nation and now former players are starting to lash out. One of Bobby Bowden’s most decorated athletes, Neon Deion Sanders, is speaking out in support of keeping Bowden at his current post. “I hate to hear this nonsense about Coach Bowden, especially from the parties that are stating it,” said the former two-time FSU All-America...

Tebow is back on the field

The Matador isn’t sure what’s going on down in Gainsville, but Tim Tebow has returned to practice, albeit on a limited basis. Though he hasn’t been officially cleared, he is slowly going through the motions as if he is going to play this Saturday against top rated LSU. Today, Tebow was in full pads and was throwing passes with the first team. Although, he did have a non-contact jersey which is typically worn by QBs. Even if the NCAA...

The Juice is being squeezed

Ron Zook is desperate to do anything to get back in the “W” column–especially after Penn State stomped the Illini into the ground on Saturday 35-17. His latest coaching foray is to bench starting QB Juice Williams. He announced this shocking news on his radio show earlier this morning. Zook’s replacement is Washington D.C. native senior Eddie McGee who will face-off this Saturday against Michigan State. At this point, the move may not be a bad idea. McGee just...

Tow-Arnett out for the Season

The Gophers not only lost a nail-bitter to Wisconsin 28-31 on Saturday, but in the midst, they lost their starting center, Jeff Tow-Arnett, for the rest of the season. Tow-Arnett broke his right leg with less than a minute left in the game. Coach Brewster was devastated by the news as he had a close relationship with the junior. QB Adam Weber will also miss Tow-Arnett as they developed and worked together since entering Minnesota as freshman. Sophomore Trey Davis will...
