The Ducks are keeping their beaks shut about the severity of QB Jeremiah Masoli’s knee injury sustained during Oregon’s 52-6 victory over ailing Washington State. Masoli took a tough sack in the first half of the game and a few plays later he left for good. During the second half, he was on the sidelines wearing his Duck warm-up suit.
As of yesterday, Masoli finally joined the practice squad, but is playing on a limited basis. There are conflicting reports as to his status, as Masoli is currently listed atop the Ducks’ depth chart. However, it seems more apparent that back-up QB Nate Costa will start against UCLA with Masoli playing in a limited capacity.
We will know more regarding the extent of Masoli’s injury as he is scheduled for a re-examination later today.
