Disgraced former Georgia athletic director Damon Evans leaves behind what could have been a lasting legacy in Athens, GA. Evans was arrested last Wednesday in Atlanta and charged with DUI after police observed Evans’ BMW swerving from lane to lane. Upon pulling Evans over, police noticed a female passenger (Courtney Fuhrmann) whose red lacy underwear was sitting in Evans’ lap. UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel has more than enough duties with running a high-profile division 1 football program that baby sitter shouldn’t be one of them. Three of UCLA’s prized freshman recruits were arrested on felony suspicion of theft last Thursday in connection with the theft of a female student’s backpack on the Westwood campus. Hyundai, known for manufacturing cars, is trying their hand at the college football arena. The Sun Bowl will be sponsored by Hyundai for the next four seasons. With Hyundai as the bowl’s new sponsor, the bowl is getting a new face-lift as well. The Sun Bowl will now get the third ranked Pac-10 and ACC teams after the respective conference’s BCS selections. One team’s burden is another team’s treasure. Former Texas DB Marcus Davis has enrolled in classes at the University of Oregon and will more than likely be playing for the Ducks in 2011. Davis was suspended after being charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated in November of last year. The Florida Citrus Bowl is getting a new look. The Orlando City council voted yesterday to approve dealings with AstroTurf that will bid farewell to grass and hola to turf. While the move is not yet final, all signs point to this measure being approved and turf being installed at the Orlando staple before the 2010 Champs Sports Bowl. Former Ohio State WR Duron Carter (son of NFL great Chris Carter)  is headed to Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, KS. Carter, a freshman last season, played in ten games for the Buckeyes and accumulated 176 yards and 1 touchdown on 13 receptions. While Carter produced sporadically on the field, his production in the classroom slipped.   Alonzo Lawrence was once a Parade All-American and the southeast region’s 8th ranked recruit according to the Mobile Press-Register.  In 2008 Lawrence signed a letter of intent and headed off to Tuscaloosa to play college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Pac-10 has invited the Utah Utes to become the newest member of the future Pac-12, and sources are reporting that Utah will happily accept.  Utah officals are holding a press conference tomorrow and Pac-10 officials will be in attendance.
