We say good-bye to the 2010 Seniors

The last college football game of the season was played in Mobile, Alabama on Saturday. College football’s stars took to the field one final time in the Senior Bowl as the South’s Tim Tebow (Florida) aimed to silence his critics who claim that he does not have what it takes to succeed in the NFL. Unfortunately for Tebow and the South, the North squad came out of the gates swinging early and never looked back, winning 31-13. Tebow started the game for...

It’s finally Friday

All is quiet over at Team Matador as we get ready for the weekend with Tim Tebow and the East-West Shrine Game. So if you are like me and you are enjoying a cup of coffee this Friday morning, here are a couple of links that will get you going. It looks like MSU is tired of being in the middle of the pack when it comes to recruiting, so to spur their rankings, the Bulldogs took some of their...

Meyer speaks, is fined $30,000.00

Urban Meyer’s public outrage with SEC officiating has just earned him a $30,000 fine (less than 1% of his $4 million annual salary). The fine is related to public comments made after the Georgia game regarding an alleged late non-call hit on his son-he-never-had Tim Tebow. Meyer was outraged by the non-call and publicly expressed his frustration over the officiating. This lack of self control ended up costing him money, but fortunately the conference did not include a suspension as well. The fine is based on...

Ingram should be included in the Heisman conversation

Everyone knows about Tim Tebow and Colt McCoy being the front-runners in this years Heisman race, but Alabama’s Mark Ingram has quietly compiled some impressive stats for the #1 ranked Crimson Tide. The 5’10, 212 lb. sophomore from Flint, MI, already has 905 yards and 8 touchdowns. He has also caught 3 passes out of the backfield for touchdowns. Ingram  garnered  SEC offensive player of the week honors after torching South Carolina’s defense for 246 yards on the ground and a...

Potts To Sit

Florida’s Tim Tebow may not be the only concussed QB to sit out on Saturday. Texas Tech’s Taylor Potts suffered a concussion last week in Tech’s game against New Mexico which earned him an overnight stay in a Lubbock hospital. Unlike the secrecy surrounding Tebow, TT coach Mike Leach has made it know that Potts will sit this week as a precautionary measure. TT will turn to former walk-on Steven Sheffield to lead the offense. Sheffield come off the...
