The former Terrapin is finally speaking out on the topic of Maryland and needless to say, it’s not pleasant. Friedgen appeared on Baltimore’s WNST with host Glenn Clark early this week. Friedgen feeling the pressure as Terps head into ACC play

Carrying an impressive 3-1 record, the Maryland Terrapins will host ACC foe Duke this Saturday at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium in College Park, MD. Saturday’s game against Duke will be Maryland’s first conference game of the season. Although the season is very young, the lack of a presence of a truly dominate team in the conference makes the race for the ACC seem wide open this year. Expectations in College Park, and among Maryland alumni are high for the Terps...

Is the Friedgen era coming to an end?

Terrapin fans don’t have a lot to be optimistic about when it comes to Maryland football and all eyes will be on Ralph Friedgen in 2010. The former Maryland player took over the coaching reigns in 2001 and led the team to a spectacular 10-2 record and a top ten finish. Nine years later, Friedgen satisfied the prognosticators by going 2-10 and finishing the regular season with the team’s first ten-loss season in school history. As training camp opens,...

DT Armstong Departs Maryland

The Maryland Terrapins and DT Dion Armstrong are parting ways. Armstrong, who has been having academic issues all through the spring and the summer, informed coach Ralph Friedgen of his intent to transfer. Friedgen was accepting of Armstrong’s issues and understands it’s time to move on.  From a football perspective, this hurts the Terrapins’ D-line. Now, Friedgen will have to shuffle some players as Armstrong was to start and DT Ian Davidson was going to back him up. Terps fans may...
