DT Dion Armstong (#92) leaves Terps
The Maryland Terrapins and DT Dion Armstrong are parting ways. Armstrong, who has been having academic issues all through the spring and the summer, informed coach Ralph Friedgen of his intent to transfer.
Friedgen was accepting of Armstrong’s issues and understands it’s time to move on. From a football perspective, this hurts the Terrapins’ D-line. Now, Friedgen will have to shuffle some players as Armstrong was to start and DT Ian Davidson was going to back him up. Terps fans may see some freshman getting more playing time than usual which creates concern for the D-line.
Armstrong has yet to announce if he intends to transfer to play for another program.
