Kentucky’s Derrick Locke will be put on the disabled list after sustaining injuries from a moped accident yesterday night. The do-it-all tailback for the Wildcats fell from his moped last night and broke a bone in his forearm while trying to catch his balance.  UK spokesman Tony Neely told the Louisville Courier-Journal that Locke will not need surgery to repair the damage done to the arm, and that he expected Locke to be fully recovered by the time the...

Kentucky’s Brooks Retires

Rich Brooks announced today that he will not return as Kentucky’s football coach next season. Brooks is stepping down after seven years as the team’s coach. Joker Phillips, the team’s offensive coordinator, will replace Brooks. Phillips was named the team’s coach in waiting two season ago. Brooks compiled a 39-47 record with Kentucky and recently led them the four straight bowl games. He will go down in UK history as one of their better coaches and he’s left the program...

Meyer speaks, is fined $30,000.00

Urban Meyer’s public outrage with SEC officiating has just earned him a $30,000 fine (less than 1% of his $4 million annual salary). The fine is related to public comments made after the Georgia game regarding an alleged late non-call hit on his son-he-never-had Tim Tebow. Meyer was outraged by the non-call and publicly expressed his frustration over the officiating. South Carolinais heading into Saturday’s match-up against Kentucky without star TE Weslye Saunders. Saunders injured his ankle in last week’s beat-down of South Carolina State. The 6’5 TE aggravated the ankle which has given him troubles before in the past. In his absence, SC will be forced to start Justice Cunningham. Cunningham has seen action in all of South Carolina’s games this season so they will have some experience to turn to while Saunders recovers.

Pass attempt 380 proved to be fateful for North Carolina State‘s Russell Wilson. During this past Saturday’s match-up against Wake, Wilson’s 379 consecutive passes without an interception came to an end. Wake Forest’s Josh Bush was responsible for ending the record breaking streak when he picked off a poorly thrown deep ball in the second quarter for Bush’s first career interception.
