Rich Brooks (right) steps down as UK's coach. Joker Phillips (left) to replace him

Rich Brooks announced today that he will not return as Kentucky’s football coach next season. Brooks is stepping down after seven years as the team’s coach. Joker Phillips, the team’s offensive coordinator, will replace Brooks. Phillips was named the team’s coach in waiting two season ago. Brooks compiled a 39-47 record with Kentucky and recently led them the four straight bowl games. He will go down in UK history as one of their better coaches and he’s left the program much better off than it was when he arrived.

Phillips will be a great replacement for Brooks and folks in Lexington, Kentucky love him. Although some are sad to see the end of the Brooks era, optimism abounds.
