Former BYU defensive lineman and Washington Redskin alum Jason Buck can “no longer stand by while Barack Obama…destroys the fabric of our government.” With Buck’s strong statements bashing the administration’s lavish spending, the All-American linebacker announced that he will seek the Republican nomination for Utah’s 2nd Congressional District to tackle Obama’s free spending. The Armed Forces Bowl has reached an agreement with Army that will pave the way for the Black Knights to play in the bowl game next season. Currently the Armed Forces Bowl has a contractual obligation to pick between Conference USA and Mountain West Conference teams that are bowl eligible at the end of the season. Houston football coach Kevin Sumlin received a late Christmas gift earlier this week. Fresh off the heels of one of Houston’s best football seasons, Sumlin was awarded a contract extension that will keep him at Houston through the 2015 season.
