Coach Kevin Sumlin and Houston Are On Fire

Say what you want about Conference -USA, but the Houston Cougars are kicking some tail and taking names. The Cougars beat Texas Tech 29-28 in a late-night thriller yesterday in Houston. Case Keenum led Houston to a 4th quarter surge that was enough to secure the victory. Head Coach Kevin Sumlin is in his second year as coach but he’s compiled a very impressive resume so far, not including yesterday’s win vs. Texas Tech, and a Sept. 26th road win against then #5 Oklahoma State.

The Cougars are playing excellent ball this year and they have a realistic chance at winning Conference-USA and could possibly  be in line for a BCS at-large bid if they continue to win. Also, QB Case Keenum has been on fire in the air by passing for 1,155 yards and 8 touchdowns so far this year. Keep an eye on the Cougs, they are one of the nation’s hottest teams and it doesn’t look like they have any intentions on slowing down any time soon.
