Perrilloux Suspended for One Game

Former LSU and starting Jacksonville State QB Ryan Perrilloux has been suspended for the home opener against Georgia Tech. The team issued a statement saying Perrilloux was suspended for violating team rules (as if we haven’t heard that before). Though the exact infraction remains a mystery, we do know that Perrilloux had prior problems at LSU for skipping classes, failed drug tests, missing meetings, and arriving late to workouts. He was a headache for the coaching staff at LSU,...

Kassanavoid the Police

The 3rd string QB spot may have just opened up at Kansas State. Freshman QB Joseph Kassanavoid was arrested last night for misdemeanor battery charges. Coincidentally, a 21 year old female, Ashleigh Brooke Mitchell, was also arrested at that same address. This seems to be eerily familiar to the Upshaw incident. Lt. Michael Quintanar of the Riley County Police Department would not release any other details regarding the arrests. K-State’s athletic director did not comment as to Kassanavoid’s future...

The “Fan Can” is Back

If you live in the state of Iowa, you best hit your beer distributors ASAP. Bud Light has released its unsanctioned promotional cans of red and gold for Iowa State (in Ames) and black and gold for the University of Iowa (in Iowa City).  The cans are being released coincidentally at the same time students are returning back to school. The beauty of these cans is that there is no mention of school name or logo. Neither school promotes the idea as both...

He has moved up the ranks of the depth chart and had a solid reserve role last season with 30 receptions for 490 yards and 2 TDs.

Armstead breaks foot

Southern Cal continues to draw attention whether they want to or not. This morning, DE Armond Armstead (So. 6’5, 295 lbs) broke his left foot, the fifth metatarsal, during a routine play in practice. If tomorrow’s surgery goes as planned, he will be out for at least six weeks, but more importantly, he will not be able to play in the rematch against Ohio State. Armstead was initially slated to back-up Averell Spicer. Fortunately for the Trojans, they have...

Cal’s Tad Smith out for season

Cal’s quest to win the Pac-10 just got a little more difficult. TE Tad Smith tore his ACL in his right knee during Tuesday night’s scrimmage. Today, Coach Jeff Tedford confirmed the tear and also confirmed Smith is out for the season. Smith is no stranger to injury as he tore his ACL in his left knee in 2006 causing him to miss the entire season. Additionally, he used his redshirt in 2005. If he wishes to play collegiate...
