OU didn’t steal my signs

The mighty Ducks personnel cannot just accept the fact that Ohio State totally dominated the Ducks in the Rose Bowl. The Ducks’ offensive coordinator, Mark Helfrich, is suggesting that some of the team’s signals were compromised during “The Granddaddy of Them All.” Rather than taking the 26-17 defeat like a man, in true American fashion, Helfrich is blaming someone else for his offense’s poor performance (Masoli only completed 9 out of 20 passes for 81 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT)....

The Mouth of the South keeps Running

Lane Kiffin hasn’t even been USC’s head coach for 3 months, yet he’s back to running his mouth again. College football’s resident court jester has given the press plenty of fodder since his arrival at Tennessee last year and it looks like the LA media outlets will have their fair share of sound bytes from him. In a recent interview with Sporting News columnist Matt Hayes, Kiffin claimed that he would have won an SEC championship he had stayed with...

Increase the Peace

Not much is going on around the college football world except for Michigan being out of compliance with NCAA rules, Oregon dealing with another potential player loss, and Derek Dooley making bank as Tennessee’s new coach. With that being said, it looks like I’ve found the perfect tool for USC (the university of spoiled children) to lure recruits to Tinseltown. We have all been intrigued by National Geographic’s documentaries on gang life and prison life, but now you can...

Oregon has dismissed WR Jamere Holland following a rant on his Facebook page. If this isn’t a sign of the times, then I don’t know what is. The rant began when Oregon linebacker Kristian Kiko Alonso was arrested early Saturday morning on driving under the influence of intoxicants charges. Holland assumed that Alonso was kicked off of the football team and voiced his strong displeasure of the move. He then later updated his Facebook status by posting: “I wish I...

Monday Morning Quarterback

It’s Monday morning and I’m still recovering from the exciting USA v. Canada hockey game. So while I regroup, I thought I would leave you with some interesting news from this past weekend. First off, a moment of silence for Minnesota State University’s Ben Bundy, a sophomore offensive lineman who passed away at age 20. A message to all athletes–NEVER, and I do mean NEVER, post comments about your head coach on a public social networking site. Oregon’s Jamere...

Sources in Eugene Oregon are claiming that Duck starting QB Jeremiah Masoli, and WR Garrett Embry, have been named as suspects in a theft that occurred on campus. A report was filed by a university student who claimed that the two Duck football players stole two Apple computers, a guitar, and other items from a fraternity house on campus. “The minute I stepped on the staircase I said to myself, ‘Wow, Masoli and Embry are in our house right now,” Wolfard...

The Winner Is…

Oregon received a huge boost to their program yesterday as HS phenom Lache Seastrunk decided that he will be playing college ball for the Ducks. Auburn, USC, and LSU, were all in the mix for Seastrunk in a highly competitive recruiting battle. Seastrunk, who hails from Temple, Texas, accounted for 1,085 all-purpose yards this past fall. His versatility makes him a dangerous threat out of the backfield, or in the slot position as a wideout. His blazing speed and cat...

The Long Beak of The Law

Maurice Dion Peterson is the most famous man in Eugene right now. Peterson was arrested yesterday in connection with the beating of Oregon kicker Rob Beard. The beating required Beard to undergo surgery to repair bones broken in his face. Peterson is being charged with second-degree assault and is being held Eugene’s Lane County jail. If Peterson skates, he may want to think about relocating as soon as possible. Folks in Eugene love their football and it won’t surprise me...
