The old ball coach auctioned off his trademark glasses for a cool $9,000.00

It’s Monday morning and I’m still recovering from the exciting USA v. Canada hockey game. So while I regroup, I thought I would leave you with some interesting news from this past weekend.

First off, a moment of silence for Minnesota State University’s Ben Bundy, a sophomore offensive lineman who passed away at age 20.

A message to all athletes–NEVER, and I do mean NEVER, post comments about your head coach on a public social networking site. Oregon’s Jamere Holland got a taste of Chip Kelly’s disciplinary action by being dismissed from the team this past weekend for his Facebook tirade calling out Kelly. Kelly’s quick and severe punishment just adds to his teams disappointing off-season. The question remains, what is the state of Oregon football.

The Penn State Public Broadcasting team held a charity auction on Saturday and two graduates are the new owners of Joe Paterno’s trademark thick rimmed glasses. The highest bid came in at a whopping $9,000.00. Little did the couple know, they could have purchased the same pair of glasses at the Student Bookstore on East College Avenue for $9.00. I’m guessing these two did not get their degree in economics.

USC (not South Carolina) is patiently waiting its fate after three days of hearings in Tempe, Arizona for alleged recruiting violations.

Though Tim Tebow was one of the greatestcollege football athletes of all time, his skeptics are questioning his throwing ability. Well, with Tebow working on his mechanics, he is posed to show-off his new arm come Pro-Day.

Finally, if the Big Ten comes knocking on Nebraska’s door, Tom Osborne will certainly entertain any offers.
