Marine dies in argument over Big 12 game

At the end of the day, college football is just a game. Now I am as passionate a fan as the next guy, but sometimes fans take their passion a bit too far for no other reason but to brag presumably for a team they didn’t even play for. The most recent nonsensical act of violence occurred after the Texas-Nebraska game at a home in North Carolina. During the epic Big 12 championship game, two friends got into a...

Dr. Bob says pass on VaTech Game

Dr. Bob dissects the VaTech v. Nebraska game: #13 VIRGINIA TECH (-5.0) 29 #19 Nebraska 24 3:30 PM (EST) Saturday, Sep-19 VIRGINIA TECH (-5) 29 Nebraska 24 I wasn’t a big fan of Virginia Tech heading into the season, as their offense was worse than average last season and appeared to be worse than average heading into this season. Does Bo know?

First, Quentin Castille was dismissed for violating team rules, now, Nebraska RB Collins Okafor has decided to part ways from the program. On Wednesday, coach Bo Pelini informed the media that Okafor left the team on his own accord. Okafor did not speak of his intentions, but for Pelini, this is his second back...

A look at Nebraska

Dr. Bob breaks down Nebraska: Former Nebraska defensive coordinator Bo Pelini was brought in as head coach after a disappointing 2007 season under Bill Callahan, whose final team was very good offensively (6.3 yards per play against teams that would combine to allow 5.2 yppl to an average attack), but went from good to horrible defensively, allowing 6.1 yppl to a schedule of mostly good offensive teams that would average a combined 5.7 yppl against an average stop unit....

Pelini Sends Clear Message to Team

Nebraska’s legs just took a hit this weekend. Coach Bo Pelini dismissed Quentin Castille from the Cornhuskers. Per the norm, Castille’s dismissal was for violation of team rules. Pelini is a strict enforcer of team rules and believes everyone on the team must abide by the rules regardless of where the player stands on the depth chart. “It’s pretty black and white my expectations and what we lay out as a staff, and if someone doesn’t follow those policies...

Update on Keller v. EA Sports, et al. (09-1967)

As you  know, back in May, former Arizona State and Nebraska quarterback Sam Keller didn’t have the career the recruiters thought he would so he decided to make money the good ole fashion way. Keller sued Electronic Arts and the NCAA for conspiring to use his identity and other college athletes’ identities for pecuniary gain, “despite clear prohibitions on the use of student names and likenesses in NCAA bylaws, contracts and licensing agreements.”  Currently, the case is pending in the US District Court for the...
