No Tweet For You!

Texas Texas coach Mike Leach is making some changes in Lubbock. No, Texas Tech isn’t making coaching adjustment on the football field, but rather with his players’s twitter accounts. Leach has banned members of the Red Raider football team from twittering. The change in his policy comes after TT linebacker Marlon Williams twitted that he wondered why he was expected to be on time for a team meeting when his linebacker coach himself was running late. Leach and company...

Lobo Fight Club

New Mexico coach Mike Locksley has tensions high in Albuquerque this season, and I’m not just talking about on the gridiron either. The first year head coach was issued a verbal reprimand after getting into a fight with his assistant coach. Locksley and WR coach J.B. Gerald had gotten riled up during a coaches meeting when Locksley grabbed Gerald’s collar and punched him the the mouth. Gerald told police what had happened and that Locksley had split his lip. USC’s Johnson Injured Lifting Weights

USC RB Stafon Johnson was injured earlier today during a  weight lifting incident. Johnson was bench pressing when the weight slipped from hands and landed on his throat. A source from USC said that Johnson was coughing up blood and bleeding out his nose immediately after the incident. Johnson was taken to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery. The Right Stuff

Say what you want about Conference -USA, but the Houston Cougars are kicking some tail and taking names. The Cougars beat Texas Tech 29-28 in a late-night thriller yesterday in Houston. Case Keenum led Houston to a 4th quarter surge that was enough to secure the victory. Head Coach Kevin Sumlin is in his second year as coach but he’s compiled a very impressive resume so far, not including yesterday’s win vs. Texas Tech, and a Sept. 26th road...

Griffin’s Gone

Baylor starting QB Robert Griffin will miss the rest of the season with an isolated tear in his knee. This comes as heartbreaking news to the Baylor community as Griffin is the heart and soul of their offense. Griffin went down during the first quarter of Baylor’s game after he was stopped on a fourth down play. Griffin had a phenomenal freshman campaign for the Bears last year and earned Big XII Offensive Player of the Year by the conference’s coaches....

UGA Fans In The Doghouse

Georgia fans are being asked by school officials to make a better effort to clean up after themselves following home football games. According to UGA president Michael Adams, tailgaters left behind 70 tons of trash following Georgia’s Sept. 12th game against South Carolina. That’s right, SEVENTY tons. Some fans even used the lawns as toilets by going both number 1 and 2 on campus grounds. That’s expected behavior for UGA VII, but certainly not for adults. These disgusting antics were met...

Bowman’s A Go

Penn State received good news yesterday with LB Navorro Bowman getting the ok to play in this Saturday’s showdown with Iowa. He practiced with the team on Tuesday and participated in non-contact drills without a problem. Bowman led Penn State with 106 tackles last season and was selected as  a 1st team all Big-Ten LB. The junior has missed Penn State’s last 2 games with a groin injury suffered against Akron. PSU’s linebacking corp has taken a hit recently with Bowman and...
