Penn State received good news yesterday with LB Navorro Bowman getting the ok to play in this Saturday’s showdown with Iowa. He practiced with the team on Tuesday and participated in non-contact drills without a problem.
Bowman led Penn State with 106 tackles last season and was selected as a 1st team all Big-Ten LB. The junior has missed Penn State’s last 2 games with a groin injury suffered against Akron. PSU’s linebacking corp has taken a hit recently with Bowman and Sean Lee both nursing injuries at the same time.
While Bowman will play on Saturday, Sean Lee will probably not. Penn State is ranked 5th in the AP Poll and is a strong contender in the Big-Ten race this season. If they can withstand the injuries, there’s a good chance that they will be in the national championship talk at the end of the season. However, they must make it past Iowa first. As last season showed us, Iowa is not to be taken for granted.
