Penn State’s Poti in legal trouble

It looks like another Penn State Nittany Lion is having trouble separating binge drinking and driving. Back-up OL Ako Poti (Sr. 6’3, 305 lbs.) was charged on July 17th with a DUI. He was pulled over for disregarding a traffic lane by State College police. When tested, he had a blood alcohol content of .10-.16 which eclipses the Pennsylvania legal limit of .08. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 2nd. Poti, an offensive lineman, was a JUCO transfer from San Francisco C.C. He...

Can he do it?

According to the experts, Ohio State is the team to beat in the Big 10. There is a lot of hype around the Buckeyes and coach Jim Tressel this season.  When you look at this team, all of this season’s fate rests in the hands of sophomore Terrelle Pryor (So. 6’6 235 lbs.). The question remains, can he do it? Pryor had a strong freshman year leading the Big 10 with a pass-efficiency rating of 151.3 in conference play and...

Big Ten to Consider 12th Game in December

It’s time for the Big 10 to change tradition. It used to be that no Big 10 team played after the Ohio State-Michigan game just before Thanksgiving. However, this concept has been slowly changing as more teams are breaking tradition. During the Big Ten media day on Monday, there was chatter about adding an open date during the season to allow for an additional game to be played after Thanksgiving to help reduce the long layoff between the conference’s regular season...

Rodriguez Dismisses “Next Pat White”

Today, there was another blow to Rich Rodriguez and the Michigan Wolverines. The team  announced the dismissal of Deerfield, Florida native Justin Feagin (So. 6’0, 198lbs) for a violation of team rules. Feagin was Rodriguez’s first quarterback recruit. He was anticipated to become the “next Pat White” in Rodriguez’s spread offense for his speed and agility. Last season, Feagin was moved from quarterback to defensive back to slot receiver.
