Today, there was another blow to Rich Rodriguez and the Michigan Wolverines. The team announced the dismissal of Deerfield, Florida native Justin Feagin (So. 6’0, 198lbs) for a violation of team rules. Feagin was Rodriguez’s first quarterback recruit. He was anticipated to become the “next Pat White” in Rodriguez’s spread offense for his speed and agility.
Last season, Feagin was moved from quarterback to defensive back to slot receiver. He only appeared in four games last year (against Purdue, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Ohio State). His athletic ability was highlighted against Minnesota when he broke for a 34 yard run.
This is the 3rd 2008 recruit to leave the team in recent months. Sophomore offensive linemen Dan O’Neill and Kurt Wermers transferred to Western Michigan and Ball State, respectively.
