It looks like another Penn State Nittany Lion is having trouble separating binge drinking and driving. Back-up OL Ako Poti (Sr. 6’3, 305 lbs.) was charged on July 17th with a DUI. He was pulled over for disregarding a traffic lane by State College police. When tested, he had a blood alcohol content of .10-.16 which eclipses the Pennsylvania legal limit of .08. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 2nd.

Poti, an offensive lineman, was a JUCO transfer from San Francisco C.C. He is a fifth year senior who saw limited playing time in 2007. He redshirted in 2008 and this season he was expected to be a reserve at tackle behind projected starters Dennis Landolt and DeOn’tae Pannell.

His status on the team has yet to be determined.
