Drug deal goes up in Flames

Early The Matador reported WR Justin Feagin was kicked off the Wolverines for violating team rules. We have now learned that the violation stems from a cocaine deal gone bad. Basically, Feagin was going to arrange for a shipment of cocaine to be sent to fellow student T.J. Burke for $600.00. Burke paid the money to Feagin, but the shipment of cocaine never arrived and Feagin refused to return the money. As time passed, Burke got upset. One drunken night,...

“Free Shoes University” should keep wins

Steve Spurrier once referred to Florida State University (FSU) as “Free Shoes University” during the alleged 1993/1994 Foot Locker scandal that hampered Bobby Bowden and FSU. Now as Spurrier grows wiser, he is jumping on the bandwagon and supporting Bowden’s petition to not lose any victories for the most recent test cheating scandal at FSU. Spurrier furthered his support by backing the FSU track team saying the team shouldn’t lose its NCAA championship title for the same scandal. Since the...

Would you trade a toe for a championship?

In 2004, Iowa defensive coordinator Norm Parker, who suffers from diabetes, unfortunately had his left toe removed because of a serious infection. He had surgery on his right foot because of an infected blister on the right toe. Now he is known as Norm “Eight Toe” Parker. If history...

UConn to help dedicate the Big House in 2010

As you know, Michigan’s Big House is still being renovated and should be completed by the 2010 season. There has been a lot of speculation as to who will help christen the renovated stadium. It looks like the rumor is out and UConn will get the nod. This will be a great Big 10 v. Big East match-up to open the biggest stadium in college football. Well done Wolverines and Huskies.

Michigan State running back Glenn Winston, who’s current home is the Ingham County Jail, is schedule to be released on August 13th. Conveniently, his release is only 3 days after MSU’s first preseason practice (on August 10th). Football at Wrigley?

It seems as if Army and the Yankees are starting a new trend. ESPN reports that talks are underway between Northwestern and Illinois that would move their yearly game to Chicago’s Wrigley Field as early as next season.  Northwestern’s Pat Fitzgerald and Illinois’s Ron Zook are both optimistic and excited about the possibility of the change of venue. Zook commented, “As you can tell, I would be very, very excited about having that opportunity,” Zook said. “And once again, it’s...
