Early The Matador reported WR Justin Feagin was kicked off the Wolverines for violating team rules.
We have now learned that the violation stems from a cocaine deal gone bad. Basically, Feagin was going to arrange for a shipment of cocaine to be sent to fellow student T.J. Burke for $600.00. Burke paid the money to Feagin, but the shipment of cocaine never arrived and Feagin refused to return the money.
As time passed, Burke got upset. One drunken night, Burke, in retaliation, got a plastic bottle, filled it up with gas, and then lit it on fire in front of Feagin’s dorm room causing extensive damage.
Burke’s roommate identified to the police the cause of the fire, the drug deal gone bad, and all the parties involved. As a result, Feagin was kicked off the team. Feagin’s drug problems should have not been a surprise to the school or coach Rodriguez as it was pretty open throughout the lockerroom that Feagin used and sold marijuana. He also had drug problems at American Heritage High School as well, but still managed to be number 3 in the Mr. Florida Football poll.
As for the incident, Burke was ordered to repay Michigan $14,213.00 for damages, but could also face up to 10 years in prison. Feagin, who was to transfer to Appalachian State, is now in his hometown of Florida. His status, is yet to be determined.
