Ohio State’s Tyler Moeller (Jr. 6’0, 216 lbs) was projected to start at linebacker with Storm Klein (Fr. 6’3, 225 lbs.) backing him up. However, Moeller may not see much playing time this season as he underwent brain surgery over the weekend. The surgery was successful and he is currently listed in fair condition.
The exact injury has not been disclosed, but Moeller did hit his head on the ground during a family trip this past summer. Although, there are conflicting stories and some accounts state that Moeller was punched in the face at a bar causing serious head injuries.
Moeller is a ferocious linebacker and showed signs of greatness last season highlighted with 18 tackles and a forced fumble.
Moeller, who has yet to report to preseason camp, is not sure when he will be cleared to play, if at all. Jim Tressel has yet to speak of the issue.
