Buffalo’s all-time leading rusher James Starks‘ career is over for the Bulls. The senior Doak Walker candidate RB suffered a labral tear in his shoulder that will require season ending surgery. This is not only disheartening for Buffalo fans but for fans of college football alike. Starks was a large contributor to Buffalo’s magical run last season in which they won the Mid Atlantic Conference for the first time, and played in their first ever bowl game. Starks leaves behind a lasting legacy at Buffalo where...

The NCAA is at it again. The almighty organization is investigating whether or not a chartered fishing trip made by ‘Bama  football players, Julio Jones and RB Mark Ingram, was in violation since it was paid for by  Athens, GA business owner, Curtis Anderson. What makes the situation interesting though is the fact that  Anderson, who accompanied Jones and Ingram, suffers from degenerative disk disorder. GQ Comes To Gainesville

GQ Magazine is featuring a spread on college football’s most popular man. No, not Lou Holtz, but Tim Tebow is featured in the magazine’s latest edition. Word has it that they’re flying off of shelves in the south faster than Gen. Sherman burned through Atlanta. Yes ladies (and men), there is plenty of eye candy as Florida’s Superman poses shirtless for a few of the pics. We’re not too sure what Urban Meyerhas said to Tebow about this, and God...

The chatter in Athens, GA this off-season was all about who was going to replace Knowshon Moreno at tailback. Many believed that Caleb King would be his heir apparent,  but sophomore Richard Samuel has other plans. Samuel has impressed the UGA coaching staff so much that they have named him the leader in the tailback race. Georgia coach Mark Richt said, “Richard is playing with a lot of energy, good stamina, and he goes hard,” Richt said Friday. “We hope...

Troy defensive back Jorrick Calvin has been ruled academically ineligible for the 2009 football season. Calvin was a solid and consistent contributor on last season’s Sun Belt conference championship team. The senior JUCO transfer accumulated 76 tackles and scored two touchdowns on special teams. He also intercepted two passes, recovered three fumbles, and had nine pass break-ups. The loss of his presence on defense will definitely be felt.   Unless Calvin is able to win an unlikely appeal, he will be watching Troy’s games from a distance.

Georgia Bulldog coach Mark Richt, along with other members of his coaching staff will be taking some unexpected time off of work this football season. The state of Georgia’s economic issues have forced UGA to implement mandatory furlough days for school employees thus affecting the coaching staff. Coaches will have to take two furlough days in October and November. Fans in Athens were pretty riled up that their coaches will be losing two days of preperation in the heart of football...
